Default fishy dinners

Mary is such a fussy eater, that she won't eat chicken, beef or other meat flavour wet food. She will only eat tuna or salmon flavoured, I have now started giving her go cat fish variety pouches which she loves, also wafer thin ham as a treat. Is there enough nourishment in giving her these fish varieties or should she be getting the other meat varieties, Beef chicken etc. She does get a handful of dry at night also.

Sounds like you have a vegatarian. I talk a lot with my local pet store and they can steer you towards the better foods. My Zipper gets a dry food that doesn't have junk in it (no meat-by-products,corn or corn gluten, wheat, soy, artifical flavours or colors) She loves it and she looks even better then before. ( very shiny and soft coat) We changed her diet as she is overweight. I don't give her canned as our vets have told us its mostly water and not to waste our money.

Try adding small amounts of other food or meats in your cat's fishy diet. I think she won't notice it. That's the best way to do it if you want to introduce her taste bud to other food.

Hi MJ,

What's the name of the dry food you mentioned?

The food is called WELLNESS The bag says its name and logo are registered trademarks of Old Mother Hubbard made in the USA and have been around since 1926. The one I have is for Healthy Weight. It says Satisfies Hunger a healthy blend of fiber helps your cat stay full longer. Wellflex system to help maintain healthy hips and joints and calorie control 11% less calories than Wellness Complete Health adult formulas. Most importantly she likes it.

I feed Wellness Core.

B/c Core has so much fish in it already I avoid any wet food with fish in it simply as a preventative for UTI issues. She's young yet and hasn't had any problems, but no sense in creating something that can be avoided. I'm lucky that she really won't eat wet food with fish flavors, so she only eats chicken, chicken and beef, and turkey flavored Wellness canned.
