Default cat with abcess

So I started working at a ranch at the beginning of this year and there's a cat out there that had abcesses on both um butt checks? and they had poped. that was about 2 weeks ago well today I went down there and the hair was gone from one and theres a little hole where you can see his musule. my question is what can I do for him I put some iadine sulution that I had for the horses on it(it said safe for cats) is there anything else I can do. This cat is around 16 years old so I don't want to take him to the humane society because i'm pretty sure they would put him to sleep.

Hi & welcome!

Poor thing! Don't you have a vet for the horses available? I'm sure he would treat him. He desperately needs to see a vet!

Thumbs up Welcome !

Poor kitty !
Thank you for your concern. I know Iodine is safe for cats, if you dilute it with some clean (purified) water. But I think that's only temporary solution, to disinfect the wound, still, you need to consult with a vet, and it must be THE SOONER THE BETTER !

God bless !

This cat is in considerable pain, and the infection will spread throughout his body. thank you for caring about him, but please see he gets veterinary attention.
