Default Help please

Tabs, one of my boys has something weird going on with his eyes.

You know cats have that bit of skin in the corner? Well his is covering half his eyeballs on both eyes. Its not all the time and hes happy as larry.

Is it anything to be worried about?!

What you called "skin in the corner" is the cat's third eyelid. When visible, is sign of illness. I suggest you to pay a visit to the vet... just in case.

Yes please visit the vet ASAP.
My Marley had this problem last year, she had a cold.
Which was quickly cleared up with anti-biotics.
But it could be something else in Tabs' case.xxxxx

Thank you!

I have spoken to my friend who is a vet nurse and she reckons this is common in cats who are oriental or siamese, mainly when they're sleepy!!

With tabs its pretty much only when hes having a cuddle with me, otherwise his eyes are fine. And Im pretty sure he has some siamese in him as he looks a lot like my female (Nips) who is half siamese!

This is interesting !! I hope your nurse friend is right and nothing is serious with Tabs ... I think you better take her to be seen by the vet. Better safe than sorry. Please keep us updated.

Sorry, but I have two Siamese cats & no signs of the third eyelid when awake, only when sleepy.

Why are you sorry?

I said that Tabs only gets it when hes having a cuddle (which makes him sleepy)

I see the third eye lid only when my kitty wakes up from deep sleep. It's creepy looking!
