Default Hi All! Mello has some nose issues.

Hi Everyone. She has what seems like acne however it doesn't really go away and the bumps stick out and almost seem like scabs but she's not getting cut by anything (that I know of). She's an indoor/outdoor around 5-6 years old. Any opinions?

Do you use plastic for her food or water? Plastic can cause acne (usually on the chin though) so you could try switching to ceramic or glass if you are.

She sure is a cute kitty!

Have only used ceramic bowls since birth. Seems to be getting worse (spreading) yet still concentrated on her nose, however it doesn't seem to bother her.

hmmm...outside are there any berry bushes or bushes with thorns that she goes in?

It is an odd area for acne. Sorry I can't help you more.

BTW Welcome to the forum.

Hello and welcome to the forum. That does look like Mello's getting scratched up somehow, but skin conditions in cats can be tricky. I think a trip to the vet would be best.

(Allie my first thought was plastic dishes too. If only it could be that simple all the time )

No thorns that I know of. I was reading a lot online....kinda scares me that it could be a form of cancer since it was saying most of the "acne" found on cats is on the chin. Well a trip to the vet here we go! Tks all!

Please let us know what you find out! Your information could be just what someone else needs to know. Hopefully it's something very simple.
