Congratulations on your new family member!

Now that you have your kitten settled at home you can get her off the junk food and feed her a good diet.

Do not free feed at all, ever. Get some good canned food (read the ingredients) and give her some and see how she likes it. Gradually feed less of the corn nuggets and more of the canned food until she is all canned fed.

A kitten will need 10-12 ounces of canned food a day.

Hopefully, even though the mother was probably also fed this junk, your kitten will not be negatively affected by it if you get her on a better diet quickly..

So she's probably tired and not hungry today. But you've got her get her off that Royal Canin crap food. Full of carbs and fillers. Horrible for her.

Feed her a good wet (or balanced raw) diet. You will find, with an improved diet, her behavior and appetite wil be much more consistent.

Good morning!

Oh please take the bell off! Cats have very sensitive hearing, it must be terribly annoying for her to have to hear that ringing in her ears every time she moves!

I don't feed canned any more so can't recommend what brands are good. (my cats eat a raw diet)

I can tell you what to avoid. You will need to start being a label reader!

Carrageenan and agar-agar - horrible ingredient, very inflammatory.

ANY grains, especially corn wheat and rice, but cats do not need grains, can't digest them, and they create all kinds of digestive problems.

Menadione sodium bisulfate. (fake vitamin K) very toxic

fruits and vegetables if possible. Cats are strict obligate carnivores, they were meant to eat meat, not plants.

Dyes, artificial ingredients, are also to be avoided.

Problem is, the pet food industry is so corrupt, there really isn't much out there that is good for a cat.

But ANY canned will be better than that Royal Canin, or any other dry food.

Here's a good website to help
