 False Pregnancy? Help!

I hope you guys can help me out. I'm new, hoping to get involved in a good community that can help me with a part of my daily life, my two kittens, Tinker (grey tabby) and Jynx (calico). They are about 6 to 7 months old and unspayed. *Don't worry, I will be getting them spayed once I'm done moving so it'll be less stressful for them!* I've had them since December.
I took my kittens to the vet today, and asked the vet why my one kitten's nipples are hard (not the nipple itself, but it feels like it's being housed on a rock!) She told me that she could be going through a false pregnancy, or that it could be something else. We took tests just to make sure.
Can anyone give me tips on what to watch out for, just in case it is? How will she act, should I try to make her more comfortable?
I'm a new kitten owner, so help!
