Default What can I feed my cat while I'm gone for the weekend when she requires soft food?

My 12 year-old female cat has bad teeth and she can only eat soft food. I'll be gone for two days and don't have anyone that can come and feed her while I'm gone.

I was going to say you need someone to feed her or else leave out dry food.. but it sounds like a dead end. I would consider bringnig her to a place that will board pets for a few days..that way she will be fed and also be happy with clean kitty litter ;D leaving out wet food will only make her sick

Do you have a boarding facility you can take her to? And as a side note, have you had your cats teeth cleaned by a veterinarian? Often times even if cats are missing teeth they are still able to eat hard food, which is better for their health. Just curious...

buy a vacuum feeder, this keeps the food vacuumed in and dispenses it when the plate is empty, it works better with dry food, but i guess it will be fine for a couple of days, remember cats eat only what they need and leave the rest for later, unlike dogs... oh, and put it in a fresh out of the sun place so the food won't turn bad... i hope this helps! try to ask someone if they can check the house every now and then to turn the ligts on for a couple hours at night so people won't know the house is empty and leave them your keys, that way they can check if the cat's food is ok...

Did the vet tell you to give her only soft food. By soft I suppose you mean the stuff in the pouches. Really that stuff is the worst for teeth as it sticks to the teeth. She should really be getting some dry. Try Purina for Seniors. It is small pieces and is easier to digest. Can leave out a big bowl of this, and one of her soft food. Don't forget to leave out plenty of water. Maybe a couple of dishes of water in a place that stays fairly cool. Clean the box right before you go and don't forget to give her something of yours to lay on so she doesn't get lonely. If she isn't used to traveling then you are doing the best thing to leave her home. Cats this age get nervous and upset in a new environment. Maybe even leave the radio on low for company if she is used to hearing the TV or radio.

Pet Smart carries an automatic feeder. It comes with two cooling blocks that go inside to keep the food in good condition. It comes with a timer so it opens each compartment when you want your cat to be fed. You can leave up to 5 meals for your cat. It is awesome!
