I heard that going with the more natural foods for your cats (and dogs) is the healthiest way. Try to stay away from preservatives and fillers. Remember, your cat is a carnivore not an herbivore. If it doesn't have preservatives, it will need to be kept in an airtight container. Ask your vet about this. You can just call.
The Iams dry food is a real good food to feed. Stay away from the moist (semi-most) foods for now till they get things cleared up. It is getting there slowly but surely.
If you buy dry cat food, IAMS, Whiskas and Kirkland are the best, especially for cats who have a medical history. The less ash content, the better! If you buy wet, Friskies and Whiskas are the best. Even better for cats and dogs, feed them people food. So if you live alone with your cat, like I do with my dog (and eventually a kitten ), cook for two. Also cut up your pet's share of the food, for your pet.
