The ideal weekend feeder, the CAT MATE C50 reliably serves up to five fresh meals at your pet's normal meal times. Twin ice packs help keep food fresh in the five large food bowls. Just set the simple-to-use quartz timer and bon appetit ! Suitable for small dogs, too.
Customer Review: Too many flaws
It's true that all the automatic pet feeders on the market have serious flaws, but the ones on this feeder are unacceptable. Really, for the price, one would expect much more. First off, the limited number of meals is annoying, but not a fatal flaw. The fact that cats can easily knock out the batteries and starve themselves, or turn the lid with their paws and break the flimsy plastic tabs that attach it - fatal flaws. I really wanted to like this feeder, but the unsophisticated design didn't even give me enough to work with and fix. I ended up going with the ERGO feeder and fixing that up.
Customer Review: Decent, but....
We used this with our cat for a while, but have recently stopped using it. It's great for feeding her while we're gone for the weekend, but we started using it as an everyday thing. That's when things went bad. Here's what happened: First, she just banged it around the house for a while, trying to get into it. It's pretty secure, so she wasn't able to pry off the lid, but she's really persistent. Eventually, she knocked the lid off of the timer, and started turning the timer--which will open the feeder to the next slot. We had to tape the timer lid down so she couldn't do that. That made it a pain to change the timer. Second, it seems that the feeder doesn't always open automatically right when it's supposed to. I found that if it was set at 6:00, sometimes it wouldn't open then unless it was given a little push. Not a big problem, I thought. Not until our cat got lucky once, gave it a push and it opened. From then on, she would push it and push it and push it around the clock--especially around 2 am when she's starting to get hungry. (Ka-chunk. Ka-chunk. Ka-chunk. Ka-chunk. You get the picture.) My wife finally shoved it in the closet, and we're back to feeding manually every morning, searching for a better system.
