Default Unanswered: my cat and my socks

it's been a little odd, but funny... i've beenw orking more often, so if i leave the house, my grandmother tells me that chloe, who we've had for about 16 months now, will walk into the kitchen with one of my socks and drop it in her water bowl. if not, she'll just drop it in the middle of the floor. yesterday there were 3 individual socks in the kitchen, and one hanging up to dry. at one point, she carried all 3, one at a time, back into my room and next to where i sleep. any idea why she might doing this? is she trying to tell me something?

Hello and welcome to the forum! This is very common behavior for cats. Why they do it is anyone's guess, but it's not unusual, and you can take it as a compliment.

Hello to you & Chloe!
One of my cats had a thing for socks when she was younger. She used to steal them off the clothes dryer and trot off looking really pleased with her 'kill'. I think that (as yucky as it may sound) your socks will smell strongly of your scent and that's why she loves them so much. Both my cats often rub their faces against my shoes too.
As for putting them near her water bowl my theory is that you probably leave her water in the same place every day so she puts the sock there so she doesn't lose it!
