Question Unanswered: Spayed info

Hello everyone
My name is Marcel and i live in the Niagara region and i just got me an 10 month young cat to to help with my depression she is now 11 months, for the past week she has kept me up several nights as she is in heat WOW i did not know that it would be this bad.
Well i did some research and found out a few things about female cats again WOW, so after all that i made some calls to find out how much it would cost to get her spayed and to my surprise it is very expensive.
My problem is I cannot afford this but at the same time i cannot afford loosing her as she has been a great help in helping me with my depression.
Does anybody know if there are places that will do the operation FREE.
It would mean a great deal to me.
P.S. Her name is Ashes

Thank You in advance

Hello Mef. Do you have animal welfare groups in your area? I would start there and ask questions. Your local veterinarian should also know if there are any low cost clinics or help with expenses. Most regions do have such organizations and it's a matter of finding them and making contact. Good luck.

Welcome to the family!
Rescues and shelters usually know about low cost clinics. You could just do a search on your computer.

I agree with the others, find a low cost spay/neuter clinic. And fast. The more often she goes into heat (and it will be every three weeks from this point on) the more likely she is going to get outside and get pregnant. That's something NO ONE wants!

Also spaying removes the risk of pyometra, a deadly uterine infection, and uterine cancer, and greatly reduces the risk of breast cancer.

Keep us posted.
