Default Why does my new rescue cat (Asian) keep vomiting?

He's 5 yrs old and I got him 3 weeks ago. Vet says he's healthy. Could it be stress caused by a new home?

it is probably hairballs so go to your local store and buy hairball remedy or try new food.

Probably a fur ball. Give him some margarine. Put a blob of it on his front paw and he will lick it off. This will help loosen the furball. Could also be the change in food? Congrats on your new pal!

Could be stress if he was a feral cat. Or, you may giving him a new type of food that's not agreeing with his stomach. Or, perhaps he's getting hold of something, like paper, and eating it? My cats do that, I think just to annoy me, and then throw up. If he doesn't get better, take him back to the vet for a second look.

How often is your cat vomiting? I too recently have been experiencing kitty vomiting problems. It isn't strange for a cat to vomit. Like many people mentioned hairballs can be a big culprit. Right along with stress and diet problems. But how often is your kitty vomiting? If it is more than 2 times a day. I would see your vete. You don't want your cat to get dehydrated. Your vete might need to open the spectrum of the exam. Or it may be as simple as a specific diet. Follow your gut instict. If you feel there is a reason to be worried. Take your cat to the vete. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Good luck and congrats on your new feline friend!

It could be one of a number of things: A food allergy-you may want to try a diet free of corn, wheat, and dairy: common cat allergies.Hairballs- you can get many products at pet stores to help him get rid of the fur he ingests betterParasites - a vet will have to diagnose and treat this Nerves - some overstressed cats will suffer digestive problems*severe vomiting, abdominal pain, and excessive thirst indicate a digestive disorder that is caused by ingesting certain contaminants and must be treated by a vet. *always seek a vet if the vomiting is severe or lasts for more than 24 hours
