Default Rainbow Bridge

I recently had to put down my wonderful Missy. She was, we think, 12-15 years old. We had her for about 8-9 years, but prior to that, she had been hanging around our house for about 3-4 years. We finally took her in on a permanant basis. We took her to the vet, and had all her tests and shots, and she was very loving.
We will miss her dearly.
I had a siamese cat. It was dumped by my cousin, whom I do not associate with anymore. He was about 5 years old. A seal point siamese. Tan with the dark brown outlines. I found out the hard way that siamese cats are prone to kidney disease. We gave him sub qutanious fluids every other day for the last year of his life, and when that was not working anymore, we had to let him go to the rainbow bridge. He was also loosing weight, and we did not want to see him suffer. His name was Moegley. This was a year ago, and I still miss him very much.
The way I cope with loosing a cat is, when I take them to the vet to have them put to sleep, I stay in the room and talk and pet him while he goes to the Rainbow Bridge. It gives me piece of mind, and my cats know that their mommy really loved them enough to let them go. I am always the last thing that they see.

Default My Missy and Melody

I lost two beloved cats in eleven months. It's still hard, my tears have for the most part stopped, but at times I find myself wailing in the shower.
My lips were on Missy's head, between her ears, where we always shared our "kitty kisses" when she died. I felt her muscles go limp but I also felt her just..go. She too had kidney failure and shortly before her last day I told her it was okay to leave me, to join Melody, that I'd be fine. Someone dumped a little cat out here one week before Missy's death, so I know it's all meant to be. I just hope someday I can feel the same bond I shared with my other two. I wish you all the best and know our cats knew and felt we loved them. The kindest thing other than all the love and caring was to put them down. No more pain, suffering or fear.
My best to you, Gretchen

I'm sorry to hear about Smudge and all the kitties of you other folks on this thread. In 2006 my little Mehitabel disappeared in May and the King of Cats, Mister Tips, died in June. They were just 2 of many cats I've loved over the years, as well as a few dogs, 1 bird and a wife who've "gone home." In my heart and soul I know they persist in a better place than this world, waiting for me to get over there with them. That keeps me from misery. Keep their memories alive with sweet thoughts and look forward to meeting again.

Hi, I am new to this site. Its never easy when a beloved furangel has gone to rainbow bridge and times we cry, feel sadness of losing our best friend and companion and I know how you feel. I lost my beloved Tiny Toot about two years ago and I had brought her into my home when she was three weeks old, she was an orphan kitten and I treated as if she was my baby. I bottled fed her, and did all I could to keep her healthy but being an orphan kitten it was difficult for her to live a healthy life. SHe has been diagnosed with a bacterial virus and her immune system was weak and she went to rainbow bridge in Nov. 2005 and I miss her dearly. I had barried my Tiny Toot in my mothers backyard and I pay visits to her weekly and I decorate her grave each holiday. I know that I carry her memories wiht me and the love she has given to can never be replaced but I know she would want me to be happy and to care for another furbaby who is in need and give it some time you will love and care for an other feline because its what our furangels would want us to do because there are alot of strays cats who needs love and a home but most of all a family.

I had to put my 3 year old male cat down a little over a year ago because i couldn't afford the surgery he needed to get unclogged. He had formed urinary crystals and couldn't go potty. It was really heard because he was the baby. I have an older cat who is about 12 or so I think and she even went through issues. THey had been best friends and loved each other. They would sleep together and with me all the time. I am now looking to get Bengal kitten to give her a friend to play with.

I lost my cat Tigger (seen below)... he just didn't come home one day. I hope and pray everyday that he'll wander back to the house (he was a bit absent minded). Even though I know it's unhealthy, I still like to think it's possible that he got lost for a few years...
So I know how you feel. I can't say it goes away but it eventually gets easier. We've always had a bunch of pets and every time we lost one, as an artist I just found it easier to cope by drawing or painting them.
Sad as it is, I'd really suggest you get another cat, because right now I think you're too focused on losing your other cat. Just keep in mind that the new cat won't be you old cat; he or she will have to be his or her own kitty.

I'm not sure the photobucket image will show so I'm also attaching it.

Default :(:(:(

My friend just recently lost Jade, her British Longhair female. She cried, but she was ok. I think it's okay to cry sometimes.
