I don't know what happened to the original female, but the male from Noah's Ark made his way to our town home complex and took up residence before we ever moved here. Eventually we pegged him as a stray and I started setting out food for him, of course he came back...every day then 3 times a day. This worked up over the course of 2 years. Over this past summer he started letting me really pet and hold him and I tried bringing him inside. When it got really cold out, he wanted to come in on his own. It really surprised us. He has been inside for about 5 weeks now, he stays inside 85% of the day. He begs to go out but I think he just dislikes the liter box, the other two cats the dog and wants to catch a break.
We mostly call him orange kitty but refer to him as Noah, Moses and Switchblade. Switchblade because he is extremely Bi-Polar. Nice one minute, mean as the dickens the next. I have many battle scars from making sudden movements. This cat can slice your finger off and you would never see him move.
So here is my big deal. I think he is super old and I know he was once someones pet, I think someone just left him here when they moved. He has been fixed. He was skinny but I fattened him up some with wet food, I was feeding him dry food like my other cats until I realized he only has 2 of his canines (fangs? are they called canines in cats?) I was all worried about the black gums until I read it is normal in orange cats. I can't check him out too well since he is so mean sometimes. We just got married a lil over a month ago and can't afford to take him to the Vet right away. Does anyone have any suggestions for his diet? We are really sweet and try to make him as comfortable as possible, is there anything I can do about the random swatting? And by random I mean, he jumps on the couch, lays down then for no reason reaches over and smacks you. I hated having scratch marks on my hands in the close-up Wedding photos of our rings but I guess I just love all things furry

Sorry for such a long thread, I appreciate any advice.
