Default Does your baby act jealous of children?

The whole time I was pregnant and until I gave birth my cat was stuck to me like glue and still is. If I am holding the baby and patting her back to burp her. Princess will come running thinking Im calling her over when really Im tending to the baby. I thought she would be jealous of the baby but instead she tries to sleep in the babies bed and she also likes to lay on the floor beside the baby when we are doing tummy time and such.

Aw that is so sweet. I bet Princess will be very close with your baby as she gets older. Princess sounds like a great cat.

She is very well mannered and layed back so I think she'll do rather nicely.

She is a good and well-mannered cat. The way I see it the bond you have with your cat now extends to the baby. You are right pets are also jealous. I should know. We have a dog and several cats.

In my opinion cats are a jealous creature. I notice that when somebody or any other pets attract the attention of the owner they will fight for it also.

My kitten will forever be my baby! However, when family members bring their newborns over he will not give up his quest for attention! He's the prince the rest of the time though, so i can see how he would get upset.

Talking

I know this was originally posted 6 months ago, but the subject brightened my mood and I thought I'd respond.

I have a new niece who's only four months old. I babysat her two weeks ago for the first time when my sister-in-law was in a bind. I was worried about how the kittens would react when they were having boughts of fighting between themselves on a multi-daily base. What would happen with a baby in the house on top of that?

The entire day they were both so well behaved I wanted to cry with gratitude, literally. (Most days I'm almost in tears because they fight non-stop.) They were constantly coming up to her and nuzzling her and sneaking peeks at her in the car seat. Or Lucius would jump up on the couch next to me to watch me feed her or rock her. And the most blessed moment of the day, she cried of colick for 20 minutes and both kittens slept through it completely! I felt I was in heaven that day!

Tha is sweet. My cats get jealous of each other. If I am giving one attention, the other will give dirty looks and generally get an attitude toward me for the rest of the day. I think its actually funny.

My cats don't get jealous of my nephew. In fact, when my nephew plays with them, they don't hiss or something. My nephew can even pull their tails and they won't get angry, they'll just act as if nothing's going on LOL.
