Unhappy My 3 or 4 week old kitten will not pee

Hello,

My name is Deanna and like my username states I am a proud Mommy of now 6 kitties.

I picked up my new baby at Walmart for free yesterday.. The guy told me she was 5 weeks old and I thought kinda young, however they said she was litter trained and ate moistend food.

Well, she has not urinated or poop at all and it has been over 24hrs. I have tried everything.....moistened cotton ball with warm water and rub her tummy and down further, I have put a "ball of cat pee" from my other cats in her litter tray.

She eats great, I bought the mother's milk in a can and then today I tried moistened dry kitten food and she loved it.....just a few minutes ago I gave her a little water.

When I put the "ball of pee" in her tray she started to dig like crazy and I was hoping and praying she would go....but, no luck.

Like I said I have 5 other cats......Bella and MoMo want nothing to do with her, however my 16 pounder Alpha Male Harry loves her already, licks her head and back and is real careful around her.....I am thinking she misses her Mommy and wants to nurse.

I am at wits end, when should I be worried and call the vet?

She walks around good and likes to play, but crys and is searching for something, I think she is searching for litter mates or her Mommy.

Please help!!!

Deanna

Default About your kitty not peeing

Hi:
I am Littleoreo2008. I am glad that the one went to the bathroom. If this should happen again. Take the cat to the vet. I have a cat that is 20 lbs. and about 3years ago he was having problems going to the bathroom. I took him to the vet. They said he was blocked. I had to leave him there. The doctor asked me how long he had been like this. I had told him that he was trying to go to the bathroom last night. In my livingroom. He would constanely try to go. But nothing would happen. He said he was blocked and that if I would have waited one more day. He would of died. Because when cats get blocked. They only last 48 hours. That is why it is very important to take the cat to the vet at the first signs of any unrinary probables. When I read your thread it reminded me of Oreo. Oreo is good know. But I have to keep him on a special diet for urinary problems.
