Job cuts: Sarkozy summons Mittal

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has summoned Indian steel baron Lakshmi Mittal after Arcelor Mittal announced around 600 jobcuts at its plant in Moselle in eastern France. The government has said it will try and ensure that no worker is left without a job. The world's largest steelmaker had last week unveiled plans to shut down its Moselle plant by early next year.
