Aviarios del Caribe - Sloth Rescue Center - Buttercup

Date: November 10, 2007/Cahuita, Costa Rica This is buttercup, the first sloth that came to Avaiarios del Caribe, Sloth Rescue Center. Buttercup is an orphan. Her mom was most likely killed by an electrical power line or car. The Harpe Eagle and Jaguar used to be the main predators for sloths. Today most sloth deaths in Costa Rica are caused by cars and electrical power lines.
