After their early 60s hits "Tonight I Fell In Love" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" The Tokens had variable success the rest of the decade. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and the next few records were on RCA. When they left RCA, the label released a package that included singles and unreleased songs, titled "The Tokens Again" in 1966. I consider this definitive Tokens doowopp and rock+roll. Currently there is a New York based group led by Jay Siegel, and an LA group with the rest of the original members. This latter group released new material in a 1988 album "Re-Doo-Wopp", containing medleys, old songs and new compositions. 1) Hear the Bells - a small hit in 1963 2) This Endless Night - RCA unreleased 3) Greatest Moments In a Girl's Life - 1966 single. a gem of a song. The LP came in 1970. 4) Doo Wopp, Doo Wah - medley of old songs, from the Re-Doo-Wopp LP (part). In 1969 they had an LP "The Tokens Gold". I'd like to know what that was. I have a spare copy of the Re-Doo-Wopp vinyl LP, sealed, which I could accept offers for. Also an extra of Tokens Again, quite good condition. Message me thru my profile page.
