...In 1988, Bob Eubanks decided to step down as host of The Newlywed Game. And at the same time the producers decided to change the format again - back to the first format (mostly). And make a massive set change. And use a new theme (which happens to be an old song). And get rid of the fourth couple. All of these massive changes to the show spelled certain doom for the show, and it was cancelled not long after.
